CARGOMATION (logo)During my time in the Ateneo, I switched my major from environmental science to information design. It was tough since I had a lot of catching up to do compared to my peers. I had 0 experience with graphic design prior to the switch.
In late 2021, my sister worked under A2B Solutions and was tasked to design a logo for the company's new app. When I found out about this, I asked if I could take on this project for her. She needed this in 3 days, so I took this as a challenge for myself as a student designer. I approached this with questions like how could I streamline the process to make it easier within the time crunch and what can I do about it? I think this project was ultimately what made me appreciate working on Adobe Illustrator for a single project. It was my first time communicating with a company as a client. I learned that my job wasn’t to give them something I think they should use, but to help them tell the stories they wanted to tell through design. |
Cargomation is a shipment tracking app made by A2B solutions, a logistics company. It is meant to is meant to keep track with shipments and related paperwork. It's an app to be sold to other shipping companies since that is their prime audience. The brand mark is a shipment box shaped using the letters C and M. The logotype is the Intro Regular typeface. It is designed to be consistent with the logo icon.

The images on the left were the sketches my sister had made. I took the box and gear imagery and played around with them. I scrapped the gear and focused more on the box design.

A couple of my second passes. I pitched an alternate design with a robot as a mascot for the app. It looked to cute for the tone my cient was going for. Ah, c'est la vie. After that, A2B asked me for more color designs before settling on the blue and light gray one as the final logo. The flaps were also removed
